Women’s Health Physical Therapy

The specialty practice of Women’s Health Physical Therapy has emerged and developed in recent years. The scope of practice for a Women’s Health Specialist encompasses the evaluation, treatment, and education of women throughout the life span with dysfunction involving urology, obstetrics, gynecology, gastroenterology, bone health, breast and other gynecological cancer-related rehabilitation, menopausal symptoms, sexual health, sports medicine issues unique to women, and low back and pelvic girdle pain. The title “Women’s Health PT” is misleading because these specialists commonly work with male gender-related conditions as well.
